טהרות פרק ו׳ משנה ז׳

A valley: in summer time is a private domain in respect of the laws of Shabbat, but as a public domain in respect of those of uncleanness; And in the rainy season it is regarded as a private domain in both respects.
הַבִּקְעָה, בִּימוֹת הַחַמָּה, רְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד לְשַׁבָּת וּרְשׁוּת הָרַבִּים לַטֻּמְאָה. וּבִימוֹת הַגְּשָׁמִים, רְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד לְכָךְ וּלְכָךְ:

ורשות הרבים לטומאה. דבימות החמה שכיחי אינשי דאזלי בה ל. קצור ולדוש ולחרוש הקרקע, לזורעה לשנה הבאה:
בימות הגשמים. שהיא זרועה, אין אדם נכנס לה:
רשות הרבים לטומאה – for during the dry season many people are found and they go in it to reap and to thresh and to plow the ground, to seed it for the coming year.
בימות הגשמים – that it is sown, a person doesn’t enter into it.
